I’ve updated the VLC Video Lan Client Media Player from version 2 to version 3 and it simply didn’t run without any error messages.
A quick look into the taskmanager revealed, that the vlc.exe was indeed running.
To fix the problem i killed all vlc.exe in the taskmanager and went into the windows file explorer. There i navigated to %AppData% which would lead me to “C:\Users\MYUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming”
There i deleted all VLC and VIDEOLAN folders.
After that, i tried again to start VLC and it worked perfectly.
